Members who don’t have access will see the name of the folder and a minus icon as shown below, but they won’t be able to open the folder. Once you’ve restricted access to a folder, any new members added to the containing folder won’t have access to the restricted folder.

This functionality is available only to Dropbox Business teams.You can't create a shared link to a restricted folder.You can restrict access to folders only if they’re inside a team folder.However, if you don't want specific people to access the new folder, you can restrict access to it. ‡If a shared folder is created within a team account, only members of that team can invite and remove members.If you create a folder inside a team folder, the new folder will automatically have the same members as its containing folder. †Owners can only unshare a folder if the folder doesn’t have any shared folders inside of it and the folder isn’t inside another shared folder.

Note: Granting edit or view access for a parent folder will allow that access level to all subfolders within that parent folder as well.
